This two piece 1920s tunic wedding dress and under-slip are truly amazing. Fully beaded scrolling stylized flowers and vines climb up the crepe outer-dress front and back in total splendor and are in excellent condition. You will notice though the tiny single strand of beads along the neckline will need reattaching by a skilled seamstress.
The satin under-slip is soft supple silk with beads in a deco pattern along the wide hem. Look closely at the images, the under-slip hangs longer than the outer tunic so you can appreciate the beading of the slip, astonishingly good. Look even closer and you will also see prong-set rhinestones carefully placed within the design on both the tunic and the under-slip for a touch of sparkle.
The condition of this dress is excellent for its age and beadwork. We have repaired the beadwork along the neckline and will rephotograph the dress to show this. There are a few tiny holes in the chiffon. Notable and visible, there is one place on top of the right shoulder where a rhinestone has fallen out leaving a small hole, I actually have the rhinestone and will include it so you can use it if you chose to repair the shoulder. The outer dress does show signs of yellowing and uneven coloration due to age. On the right side near the waist of the under-slip, there is a small area where the fabric is weakened/thinning, this would not be detectable when the tunic is on. Time has been kind to this dress, a beauty with a past life.
