Archaeologists have found evidence that echinacea was used by Native Americans 400 years ago as a general 'cure all', particularly to treat wounds and infections. It has been used throughout history to treat everything from malaria to diphtheria. Although its use dropped with the introduction of antibiotics, purple coneflower echinacea has gained popularity and is used to relieve the duration of the common cold and flu, as well as help boost the immune system. This plant can also help with blood sugar and anxiety!
