🌱 Growing instructions
- Scarification: Lightly scarify (nick with a file) a small spot on the hard seed coat to allow water absorption.
- Soaking: Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours to soften the coat. Please note: Both seeds that float and seeds that sink will be viable.
- Stratification: Place the soaked seeds in a bag with moist sand or a paper towel and refrigerate for 60-90 days (Cold Stratification).
- Sowing: After stratification, sow seeds 1 inch deep in pots with well-draining soil. Keep warm.
- Germination: Germination can be irregular and slow, taking anywhere from 30 to 60 days after sowing. Be patient with this ancient tree!
- Care: Keep seedlings in partial shade for their first year.
