Doryanthes excelsa, also known as the Gymea Lily or Flame Lily, is a spectacular Australian native plant admired for its dramatic, sword-like foliage and towering flower spike. This striking perennial can reach up to 6 metres tall in flower, crowned with a bold cluster of deep crimson-red blooms that attract birds and pollinators.
The plant forms a large rosette of broad, architectural leaves up to 1.5–2 metres long, making it a stunning feature in native gardens, large landscapes, or public plantings. ‘Flame Lily’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and is both drought-tolerant and fire-resistant once established.
A true statement plant that delivers incredible height, texture, and colour—ideal for bold, low-maintenance landscape design.

Culinary Use: Traditionally used by Aboriginal people. The flower spikes, young flower buds, and fleshy base of the leaves can be roasted and eaten.

Doryanthes excelsa ‘Flame Lily’seeds are only a few millimeters in size. As a general rule Doryanthes excelsa ‘Flame Lily’ seed should be sown to the depth of the seed. Although most Australian native/ endemic seed can be sown throughout the seasons across Australia it is advisable to sow in Spring or Summer in colder regions. The optimum temperate to ensure the best possible germination rate for sowing many Australian native/ endemic species is around 18-22°C. |

35% cotton shirt, 25% linen suit

This formal suit is not as white as I thought it was going to be. It’s off white due to it having 25% linen, which gives it a natural, “more expensive” sort of look.
My 5yo said “it’s a little itchy but looks nice”. I think it’s just stiff because it’s new. I’m going to wash the button shirt and see how it is after washing. I do wish it was 100% cotton. The button shirt is made of a cotton blend with 35% cotton.
The stitching is very clean. Well made. As you can tell, it’s a little loose on my average size 5yo. I got him size 6.
This will be a great suit for one of the kids piano recitals.

Nice summer suit

The overall quality is better than I expected. It is polyester and linen blend, seems easy to care. Like the light green color, muted. Sizing is good, size 10 fits well to my more than average weight 9,5 yo. My only complaint is the tie is not matching the suit as it is shown in the picture. Instead they put an ugly/shiny green tie, which we definitely wont use and need to find something else. Also doesnt have the tissel on the jacket. I kinda liked it🙂
