Material: Campania International's glazed terra cotta planters are handcrafted from natural clay and fired at temperatures between 990 and 1000 degrees Celsius for excellent frost resistance and durability. The natural glazing enhances weather resistance, and quality control ensures they withstand freeze-thaw conditions, making them ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Proper care allows them to perform well in regions with freeze-thaw cycles.
Care: Freeze-thaw cycles in winter can cause water inside planters to freeze and expand, leading to cracks. Store planters in a dry location away from the elements. Glazed and terracotta planters have pre-installed drainage holes, which can be covered with a mesh screen to prevent clogging. Fill the bottom with non-porous drainage material, add a well-draining soil mix, and top with decorative mulch or pine bark to avoid water pooling.
